NIC RUDNICK
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
As an instrumental and important member of the Econet Group, Nic has been responsible for leading negotiations with the Lesotho Government for the acquisition of Telecom Lesotho Limited; for managing the company's auction strategy in the successful bid for a GSM license in New Zealand; for orchestrating license applications to operate mobile telecoms networks in countries such as Botswana, Zimbabwe, Nigeria and Kenya; and for challenging the Supreme Court of Zimbabwe over the monopoly of fixed line telecommunication services. Nic is a well recognised figure within the industry. He holds a BA in Law and LLB degrees from the University of Cape Town and South Africa, and has been admitted to the Roll of the High Court of Zimbabwe and Supreme Court of England and Wales.
KATE HENNESSY
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Kate is the Chief Financial Officer of Liquid Telecom and is responsible for Liquid Telecom's finance department and human resources. She is a Chartered Accountant of South Africa and performed her articles with KPMG in South Africa after gaining a Business Science Honours degree at the University of Cape Town. She has several years post qualification experience in the telecoms sector in the UK. Kate joined Liquid Telecom in September 2007. Outside work, Kate enjoys reading, watching films and swimming and is an ardent follower of Chelsea FC.
DANIEL NEETHLING
FINANCE MANAGER
Daniel joined the company in August 2004 and is responsible for the monthly management accounts, monitoring of cash-flows and general office management. Outside work Daniel is a keen sportsman, especially cricket and rugby, and also loves to travel.
NATALIE DE FREITAS
FINANCE ASSISTANT
Natalie arrived in the UK in 2007, having previously worked as an Accounts Assistant for 12 years in the Travel industry in South Africa. As Liquid Telecom’s Finance Assistant, Natalie’s responsibilities include preparing invoices and payments as well as organizing monthly management reports. Natalie is currently studying to obtain a professional qualification in Accounting.
MICHELLE MCLEAN
KEY MARKETING ACCOUNT MANAGER
Michelle joined the team in May 2006, having worked as Marketing Assistant for Hallmark Cards for a year and a half in Australia. She gained a Bachelor of Social Science from Swinburne University, Australia where she majored in Marketing and Psychology. Michelle is responsible for Liquid Telecom's website and advertising, trade exhibitions, as well as PR & promotions. Besides her passion for fitness, Michelle enjoys meeting new people and likes to travel as much as possible.
SCOTT WILLIAMS
GRAPHIC DESIGNER
Working as a member of the Marketing Team, Scott prepares digital artwork for Liquid Telecom's advertising campaigns, and supports the South Africa office. Having previously worked at Velocity Advertising Agency, London where he gained experience as Studio Manager on a number of high profile accounts, his knowledge of print and production is invaluable. Scott is an active man outside the office, getting involved in horse riding, mountain biking and go-karting.
JEF KENT
CHIEF OF OPERATIONS
Jef works in Business Development and Operations, having worked in the telecommunications industry for over 10 years. His vast work experience has taken him to Europe, Africa and Asia. He was instrumental in gaining the first licenses for a VoIP route in to Pakistan, and on voice & data projects in Western and Southern Africa. Any new products or services that Liquid Telecom tries out have more than likely been created or implemented by Jef and his team. But it's not all work for Jef. Outside the office his passion is mountain biking in the North Downs.
MICHELE HOOD-CREE
CARRIER MANAGER
As Liquid Telecom's Carrier Manager, Michele is responsible for wholesale and retail voice traffic, pricing, routing decisions and account management for all voice suppliers and customers. She has over 10 years experience in the telecommunications industry. Michele graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University with a BA Hons in French, German and Business.
KOMAL KERAI
OPERATIONS ANALYST
Komal deals with all of the Operational aspects of Liquid Telecom's day-to-day business. She provides retail and wholesale traffic quality analysis, infrastructure assistance, and training and support to all of our business partners. Her priority is 2nd level support in conjunction with the Technical Department. With over 5 years experience in the telecommunications industry, Komal is an invaluable member of the team.
ROGER BLAIR
OPERATIONS ANALYST
As part of the Operations Team, Roger deals with the Liquid Telecom database and back-end processing. He is also involved with the Web Development Team having gained a BSc with Honours in Computer Science at Kingston-Upon-Thames University. Roger joined the company in 2007. Outside of work, Roger's interests include home DIY and improvement, personal fitness, martial arts and home audio/video.
BEN ROBERTS
CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER
With over 7 year's experience of VOIP technologies and 8 year's of satellite data networks in a design, operations and support role capacity, Ben is more than equipped to be in charge of Liquid Telecom's technology. Having graduated from Bristol University with a BSc in Physics, and worked as an Electronics Development Engineer, Ben moved in to the telecoms industry in 1996. He has previously worked for Ericsson developing satellite data distribution networks and at Clarent Corporation on VoIP networks. He became CTO in 2006.
MARIO HENRY AMECHI
NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR
Mario joined Liquid Telecoms in 2005 as our IT Manager, having previously worked with Vodafone UK as a Cisco Engineer. Prior to his move to the UK in 2004, Mario worked as Head of Regional IT at Diamond Bank Plc and then United Bank for Africa in Nigeria. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical/Electronics and certifications as a Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP),Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) and ISEB IT Service Management (ITIL).
SHAHZAD MANZOOR
SENIOR VOIP ENGINEER
Shahzad's main responsibilities at Liquid Telecom are to develop, integrate and maintain VoIP products for customers, and being CCNA certified, maintain the company's Cisco network. He joined the company in April 2006. With a Master Degree in Computer Sciences and 5 year's experience in Voice and IP, Shahzad is the ideal person to act as the Senior VoIP Engineer. Prior to starting at Liquid Telecom, he worked as a consultant to implement Cisco NGN products for VoIP carriers in the UK. His main hobbies include cars, playing video games, movies and exploring new technologies.
RAMZI SHALAK
VOIP NETWORK ENGINEER
Ramzi joined ECS in March 2005. Ramzi began his career at AAPT in Sydney. There, he spent 2 years as a Switch Engineer and was part of the team responsible for managing, maintaining and expanding the Australia wide Siemens switch network. He left AAPT midway through 2001 and moved to the U.K. to take up a contract as a Systems Engineer with Natwest Bank. During the year long contract, he was responsible for managing and administering the Bank's two ISDX PABXs. Shortly after, Ramzi returned to Sydney to take up a role as a VoIP Engineer with B.Y.B Telecommunication working on their Vocal Tec based IP network.
HARI SIVASUBRAMANIAM
RF & TELECOMS ENGINEER
Hari wanted a new challenge in the telecoms industry so joined Liquid Telecom in 2005. He is responsible for looking after projects involving RF and Transmission on-site as well as maintaining them. He also engineers network issues and ensures that the company's services run smoothly every day. Having gained an Honours degree at the University of Sussex, he then graduated from Kings College with an MSc in Mobile and Personal Communications in 2001. Hari loves football - especially Manchester United - long distance running, swimming and socialising.
